The brief: This Creative Conscience brief required me to use creative skills to aid people with mental health issues. I was asked to look at those around me, who may have been affected by these issues on a personal level, and then use their experiences as possible insights and ways of research for the brief.
About creative conscience: “Creative Conscience is a global movement that aims to improve the communities we live and work in, helping to transform the wider world. We promote socially valuable, human centred design that enables and inspires people to change their lives and the lives of those around them for the better.” – Creative Conscience The approach: After taking time to speak to those around me, I discovered that my Mum suffered extremely badly with Postnatal Depression after she gave birth to me. After continuing research into this area, I began to feel that this was an area of mental health often not spoken about enough, and I wanted to challenge this stigma to hopefully reduce this.
